Terms of Service

1. Use of the App

Kalí is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, modify, or copy the App
• Use the App for unlawful purposes
• Interfere with the App’s operation or security
• Upload any harmful, illegal, or infringing content

2. In-App Purchases

Kalí offers paid premium features through Apple’s In-App Purchase (IAP) system. By making a purchase, you acknowledge that:

• Payments are processed by Apple, not by us
• All transactions are subject to Apple’s payment policies
• Purchases are tied to your Apple ID
• You can restore purchases using Apple’s built-in “Restore Purchases” feature
• Refunds must be requested directly from Apple

No login or account is required to access purchased features.

3. User-Generated Content

You may create or upload content within the App, including:

• Photos
• Descriptions
• Meal notes
• Nutrition data

You remain responsible for all content you submit. You agree not to submit:

• Illegal content
• Infringing or copyrighted content without permission
• Abusive, harmful, or offensive content

You grant us a temporary right to send your content to the OpenAI API only to generate insights for your use. We do not store or reuse this content externally.

4. Health Disclaimer

The App may provide nutritional estimates or insights via AI. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Kalí does not provide medical advice
• The App is for information and wellness support only
• You should consult a healthcare professional for medical or dietary decisions
• We are not responsible for decisions you make based on the app's results

5. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is extremely important. All handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Key points:

• No login or accounts
• No identifiers collected
• All data stored locally on your device using SwiftData
• Photos/text are sent securely to the OpenAI API only for analysis
• No tracking, analytics, or advertising SDKs

To the greatest extent allowed by law:

• We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or adverse outcome resulting from your use of the App.
• We make no guarantees regarding accuracy of nutritional or AI-generated content.
• Use of the App is at your own risk.
• The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

8. No Warranty

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free
• Insights will always be accurate
• AI analysis will be reliable for every situation

All output is generated based on available information and AI algorithms.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if:

• You violate these Terms
• You misuse the App or its content
• Required by law or App Store policies

After termination, you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within Kalí remain the property of Gísli Garðar Bergsson. You may not reuse, copy, or distribute these materials without written permission.

11. Updates & Changes

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, unless otherwise required by local laws in your region.
